Dodge Jumping. For being such a useful thing to do not enough people do it. What is dodge jumping you ask? Its when you do a dodge, then while still in the air you press the jump button to jump. It makes you go really far really fast. A skilled dodge jumper can be continually moving along without having to stop at all before dodging. Here is the best way to do it IMO: Use the left or right strafe key to move forward, that means that your view is going to have to be angled so that you are going in the direction you want to go(you choose left or right depending on whats on either side of you. exampe: if you are moving along a wall that is on the left of you, then you are going to want to use left to walk and then have your view turned right a little because you dont need to watch the wall). As you are walking you are going to want to tap forward twice, which is going to make you dodge. Then while still in the air hit jump and you will go even farther with that dodge. If you don't have any idea what I am talking about, then you could ask me to show you in game and maybe that will be less confusing. This is very useful in Onslaught for when you have no vehicle and have to walk somewhere. You can easily out run tanks while dodge jumping. You move much faster than anyone who is running in a straight line. Plus, your a pain in the ass for snipers. Gives you a much greater jumping distance too, for when you have to jump big holes or something. If you can get up those slanted things that go up the walls like on DM-Rankin, then you know how to dodge jump, you just need to learn to use it all the time.
Wall dodge jumping: You don't need to use this a whole lot, but it can be useful sometimes. Jump at a wall, dodge away from the wall when you hit it(your still in the air at this time), then as you are pushed away from the wall, jump. That will make you jump higher and farther than usual. This can be used for getting tought to reach places. This will make it easy to get the Damage amplifier from Deck-17. Wall dodge jumpin was much more powerful on UT2003. It could get you too very high spots. It's a shame it's not like that anymore.

That dodge jump is actualy quite more commonly known as a double jump, especialy to those who play platformers. And that is rather complicated, I think I could launch 5 rockets in the time it takes to do that. And from the sounds of it I would be doing something that works better for Counterstrike tactical shields. And doing that realy blows.
And I don't realy like doing all kinds of jump combos to get places. I want a pure, clean FPS. Save the jumping for Platformers like Mario and Crash Bandicoot.

Dodge jump and Double jump are 2 seperate things. Once you know how to do it and have practiced it, it is anything but complicated.
You could launch 5 rockets in that time? I would love to see you even get 2 rockets out in that time.

lol, I just don't want to bother. I would call that annoying at best. Like I said, leave the jump combos to platformers.

The double jump and double jump are very handy in UT. I use them all the time. Mastering them can improve a players game quite a bit. You can even use a dodge jump to move a bit faster when getting fired on by a tank.

Double jump is very handy in getting those super shield packs that are often in hard to get to places.

triple jumping, Tap either forward, backwards, left or right arrow keys (or whatever you use) 2 times to do a quick leap then simply press jump 2 times so you'll be in mid air with the quick leap then a double jump makes you go further. Its usefull when moving away from that nasty goliaths big gun, but it takes too much work so practice is important.
Downsides : Can only jump in 1 direction. You must also learn the rate at which to move you weapon when shooting, that way you can always hit him while he cant hit you.
Also when snipering you want to do thigns as quickly as possible so either get into focus before you move or quickly focus in shoot and focus out. Takes awhile getting used to, and knowing where they are helps when trying to shoot them.

We should set a practice date for this. If possible I think we should have spaz run a server so then we won't be bothered by other people. We just need a time set.

I got a kind-of-like-a-cheat type thing. Its where I set my mouse sensativity to its max which I think is 20 or so, and then my mouse with just a little movement is accross the screen. Its harder to aim, but you can see whos all around you faster. Helps you decide whether you want to take out someone whos sniping you or take out the one you should be more concerned with (also helps with being crushed by mantas.)
Although the downside is you need to learn how to control it ontherwise your aim will be terrible. If your hands are a little shakey dont try it, because you'll be messing up your shot all the time with the slightest of movements.
Super Sniper:
Hard but once you become pro at it your set for life. Lightning gun is good if they arent moving very fast in the air or on land, the minigun is good for meduim range shots at people, and the shock rifle is the best. If your out of avirals or rockets or you simply cant spend the time aiming them then keeping your target lock fixed on them the next best thing to do is use the shock rifle.
All you basically need to know is the rate at which they move across them map and simply aim the neccessary amount ahead of them. Its basically like mining a minefield thats eventually going to be where they step. You'll always miss some shots even when your experienced, simply because of a little lag or a sudden change in their direction. I find the shock rifle to be the best because of its quick firing time.
The minigun is sort of good however if you dont "mine the way" then none of your bullets will ever hit, simply because it takes too long to travel to them. If they are standing still the mini gun can blow some serious damage with just a few shots.
Lightning gun is pretty good but like I said before you need to be quick with it. There is a long delay inbetween shots, and the time it takes to travel great distances severely hinders your ability to hit. But not impossible. Its basically the same thing as the minigun and the shock rifle except about a 1 second delay before it reaches anything far away sometimes even 2-5 if its really long.
With the lightning gun just be careful about the enemie team going to double team you. You are wide open to attack during the short time to aim and shoot.
Anti Vhiecle:
Minigun, Flak Cannon, Shock Rifle, Link-gun, lightning-gun, anything related to missles.
Who says a person versus a vhiecle cant win? Although the odds are stacked againsed you its not impossible unless they know what your doing and decide to get out for a long melee-dog-style fight.
The suggested weapons above blow major damage, my personal favorites are the minigun, flak, shock, and lightning. Minigun can deal huge damage to heavily armoured vhiecles even the Admiral (leviathon.) Just aim shoot and dodge, you may not notice very much difference in their status but trust me their probably pissed off at you because your tearing their 5000 to a 3000 or a 800 to nothing or a 400 like its nothing. Flak is good as a backup, close range dodging type, it hurts them despite what you think, I know when people are flaking me I need to get out before they totally blow my tank away.
The Shock Rifle is deadly, its distance haunts any vhiecle from the scorpian to the raptro (leviathon, goliath, manta, pheonix), trust me when your a raptro in the air and being shot by this pink thing thats ruining your shot and taking out 40-60 life you want to drop a missle on him but he can dodge better then you can shoot, you get pretty pissed. When your a leviathon and you see this purple stuff at you you dont think its much at first so you go on aiming at things worth your time untill you finally see he shaved close to 1000 off of you and you are just forced to shoot the super weapon or the missles at him.
When you a goliath and your getting shot and you see him but cant hit him you either get really mad, ask for backup or run out to deal with it yourself. I know from experience because I get pretty pissed when someone ruins my car/admiral/leviathon.
