Well, most of know that we've been had with the VSK server. Not only that, but if I mention them to some random person, I get "DON'T GO THERE!" Now there's several options for something new. Of course, there's the jolt.co.uk servers that are quite spendy, but run very quickly across the sea. There is also escapedturkey.com/ servers which look pretty good and are very cheap. Much better than VSK prices. What do you guys/gals think?

If espionage wants to split the cost of a server through jolt.co.uk then I'd be up for that. They are a bit pricey but if they allow AS and ONS as well as the other gametypes then that would be fine. Plus they have a split fee option in where multiple members of a clan are splitting the price of the server so payment would be easy. they also require the jolt.co.uk name to be listed in your servers name if you want it removed then it's an additional $10.00. It didn't say if it was $10.00 per month or a one time fee. Let me know. The price per month is $67.50 US.
The escaped turkey servers also look good. They also have more players for a less price. Additionally they reinstall your game at no charge. I'm assuming that it also includes the usage of vehicles. Plus there is no setup fee. Maybe I'll go for that. Plus there is a 10 day money back guarantee so if we don't like it within 10 days get our money back.

I think I'm going to give escapedturkey servers a try. It is only $25.00. I do get a bit irritated with the customer service of vsk and they are a bit bitchy and a bit vague with their policies. I did check out one of the ut2004 ONS server on escapedturkey(I mean went to a ut server hosted by them) and redirect DL'ing was incredibly fast. My ping seemed a bit high but it could be due to all the bots running on the server(90's) in addition to the number of player slots. I do like the fact that they give you free range of what you can put and do on your server rather than having to check with cust. serv. every 5 mins like a little baby. I checked on vsk's cancellation policy and they say, just don't pay when monthly renewal comes around and will be cancelled. I'm going to give it a shot. What the hell. should have something by the end of the day.

I'd skip on Escaped turkey. High ping but smooth gameplay... maybe not such a good idea. Maybe if they upgrade the connection on their datacenters or build a new one. (With prices like those, I can see why they'd be packed already.) Although I was told that outlaw gamers is very good. We should look into them.
Edit: Ok, sry. My informant was forgetting that I'm looking for a UT server. Outlaw gamerservers only host mohaa and CoD.

Actually since you've had problems finding proper hosts, be sure to prod them about their connections, etc. Jolt is well known, I can say that the validity of their international servers are more then good.
VSK you can do a cash rollback. Dont worry about getting into legal confrontations. Any average profiled lawyer would be able to quickly shoot down their arguements.
They lied about the US Banwidth Exchange building and their servers. Which by policy is good enough to account for a cash rollback. Why? because service was undelivered.
Anyways when choosing EscapedTurkey or Jolt go with Jolt. To finish the calculated costs fully, Jolt is in fact telling the truth with the part about physically owning the server.
EscapedTurkey seems a little vague in my mind.
Also you can tell jolt is a little more tidy and professional (vBulletin tells us they are successfull, because its a $160 package.), and the fact they are using SSL (notice the https:// when going to their server areas) tells us they payed over $300 for a certificate to use, and its secured transaction.
I wouldn't worry about buying a clan server for our clan just yet. Reason being is unlike most clans to buy a clan server that will suit our needs will cost well over 100 USD due to the fact legitamite hosts need a lot of money to use the 5 major pipelines over seas (or 8 back-bones.) We have players from all over the world.

I'll second everything Yeochins just said except the part about getting a server. Seeing as we have a high inactivity rate, (which we will soon fix.) a server makes a very important tool for recruiting. An international server would help us so much, and the jolt tag may even increase the server's activity; however, I feel that we can hold off on the $160 grandslam package until we have atleast four people ready and capable of helping on the payment. (with equal payments, more or less.) Give me a couple years to start a rock band and sell Lots of T-Shirts and I can help.

LOL!, I actually am going to be back at work within the next week or so and if I have to then I will just pay for the whole thing myself through Jolt.co.uk. As long as it is able to have AS and ONS on the server. Just at this particular time I am using my savings so needless spending is out of the question right now. But I can remember since UT2k3 of wanting to have my own server and even more so with the release of UT2k4 so we'll have one. One way or another. ;D

So, $6.00x10players =$60.00per month rental. Isn't it 67.50 for jolt servers for 12 players? I appreciate the suggestion though. I had forgotten that they even existed. ;D Will check them out.
