Well, I still as of yet have heard any response from our european members on how the connections for them are from the different game servers. Since I had the money to do so I have already gone ahead and signed up for a 10 player server from gibgames.com. As soon as it's set up and ready to go I will let everyone know Name, IP etc. As well as any other info in regards to twl p/w's etc. if applicable ;D

As long as we get a decent server out of it, then it's all worth it. I actually thought I'd hear something from them today but I haven't yet. I don't know if they will probably put it off til after the weekend or not. But I'll let ya know. ;D

Gib games is a little better, but not by a great margin. Also anna when you get a chance speak to me about the GameMake program. This way you can create a specific gametype for the TWL, and use The MapVote to apply the mutators to ONLY that game type. Simply because GibGames is simply not fast enough to handel serious Anti TCC Checks for 10 players at once. Even though they are connected to fast networks in america, they dont hold their own pipeline. They are using a small pipeline for "sharing" amongst those who cannot buy the full dedicated packages.
Also we need to make sure the gametype is successfully created that way we dont have to put up with having a Handicap. UT2004 is a search and destroy type game. Without the "search" thanks to the bright skins, it makes it all to easy to "destroy"

NP. After our match, I think Ph4nt0mL0rd and I agree that we aren't really a team cut out for DM so I think we'll be looking into ONS as a gametype. But who knows. I did send an email off to gibgames today to get a progress update so who knows on that too. If I don't hear back from them soon, I will be on the hunt again. Because if I have to wait this long for an order, I can imagine what cust. serv. will be like and I don't want to have to have that much down time since I'm paying money for up time. Do you have a link to this GameMake thing? ;D

LoL, no link to the game make thing. And yes, I do think that we are a really sucky team when it comes to dm, especially with no weapon stay, which is total bs and takes the fun out of losing.

No Weapon stay dm and weapon stay dm are completely different and take some different strategy. A strategy that Deth had practiced. It somehow seemed like they got the good guns really early, then went off as a team and they killed us one at a time, and we were usually alone because you can't stay together when you're always looking for a gun and getting killed all the time. When I actually found a gun like the flak cannon or rocket launcher, I could usually get a kill or two, but then die pretty quick because I would soon be facing two or three of them, who would all be armed. Also the matches were starting out with really close scores, then theirs just rocketed and we would get a one or two kills here and there. I kind of want to have a non-TWL rematch with deth because I'm curious how the outcome will vary from the TWL match.

I kid you not. During that whole time there were only two ocassions after spawning that there was a weapon available at every spawn point I went to. At every single spawn point there was nothing but sparkelies and those assault rifles do SH*T for damage. That's why you rarely see anyone use them....cause they suck! And I thought it was pretty jacked that they seem to always have a flak, rocket, shock, link....everything but an assault rifle. I mean what other strategy is there(besides the obvious) than to obtain a better weapon than the stock crap one you have after spawning? I can't very well camp a weapon spawn and wait for one...cause then I'm dead anyways. But if you're the team that has all the good weapons you get a good amount of time between when someone you kill dies and then respawns to get to those weapon spawns again. And in my opinion it rather gives an unfair advantage. If it is going to be a true test of skill then all sides and players should posses weapons of equal power. Because then the winner isn't decided on which person or team has the stronger weapons but who in fact posseses more skills in terms of targeting, movement, evasion etc. If you have one side with weak and minimal weapons versus the other side with powerful and abundant weapons....then the powerful is going to take it 95% of the time. Unless of course they are extremely stupid and couldn't hit a stationary rock. But if that were the case then they wouldn't have the good weapons cause they'd be to stupid to pick them up. It would be like this.....I wrap a rubber band around my thumb and forefinger like it's a gun....and the other person actually has a gun.......when the announcer off to the side yells "FIRE!"...who do you think is going to die......yep the person with the real gun. Because even if I had a strategey to put out their eye with my rubber band gun....the speed and power of the real gun would overtake my rubberband gun in an instant. Although I may still end up putting out their eye.......that's all I've done is put out their eye.....but I'm dead!

Woopsie! I forgot that I actually had a reason for coming to this section other than my post just before this one. Hehehe. Um, I did get an email from gibgames today and apparently they have had an overabundance of spam emails coming in. But they let me know that they have placed me on the allowed list because my request must have been dumped thinking it was a spam email. Also that they will process the order ASAP. Apparently redirect is an additional service that requires a fee for use. I can't imagine that it would be all that much but I am going to sign up for that service because I don't want to be limited in the maps we can have on the server. I'll keep ya posted ;D

OK, I just got the paypal email from gibgames and paid for our server. For 10 player public server it's $4.00 per player slot. I did sign up for redirect which is 500mb of storage space and the fee for that is $10.00. So our grand total for the server is $50.00 per month. If it turns out to be used a fair amount then I'll probably up the player slots to 12 or 14. 10 players is good for DM, TDM, BR and AS but I think it's a good Idea to have at least 12 or more for ONS.
Apparently the word Beaver was one of the block words on their spam filters, since they have allowed it communications are going much better. I don't know how long it will take for them to verify or get the payment from paypal but I would think the server should be online sometime today, I hope ;D I'm going to hit the web and get latest files(mutators and blah blah) so that I can have it up and running ASAP!
My payment date for VSK has come and gone and as far as I can tell it's still running. Fortunately I saved the forums page that has Ray from VSK saying that if you don't want the server anymore and want to cancel, just don't make the payment. But I'm waiting for them to say "where's our money? well, we're going to sue you". Should be interesting. ;D

LOL, that's exactly what I've been thinking too. ;D I got an email from them today because I sent one saying that I wanted to sign up for the redirect service. They said people must be coming back from xmas with money this year because they are having an usually hectic and busy January. The did go ahead and give me the redirect free for 1 month because of the hassle so far. Now I'm just waiting for the email with all the server info. ;D
