As mentioned elsewhere on this forum, it's time this clan made a step forward again. I hope you all agree this probably won't happen in the current configuration. This is an outline of my current plans. Let me know what you think!
Out with the old, in with the new
I've been thinking about the future of TNT, and I think the way forward is to start a completely new clan.
The reason for this is that I think the next step for clans is to have an image, to become a brand. Right now TNT is a very generic clan. We don't have much that seperates us from any other clans. In fact, there are even other clans with the same name. I want to change all this. The following is what I've come up with.
I came up with this looking at FF5 – they have a different atmosphere from other clans. Most other clans are interchangeable, but they are not. They have their own fascinations (Pulp Fiction), their own catchphrases (cocoa!), themes (monkeys!) and a generally fun, rebellious spirit.
So is there anything as cool as monkeys? Yes, there is! That’s why I present to you:
MONDO ROBOTICO!
It’s like FF5, but with robots. It’s a theme that fits most of the games you’d play (NOLF, UT, etc.). Everyone likes Robots. I would also like to impress some of my own fascinations on it. With a bit of a retro cult theme. Of course, this theme also easily leads to catchphrases – EXTERMINATE! – or DANGER, WILL ROBINSON! Etc. etc. I’m hoping this kind of thing will help keep up a fun atmosphere.
Who are we?
We are the robots.
We do not bleed, we leak. We do not recruit, we assimilate. We are not crazy, we've just got some wires crossed.
Issues to resolve:
- will we simply bring all the TNTs? - does everyone agree? - will we get a domain name? - where to host? - who will make the site? - who will moderate the forum? - how will we enforce the rules?
- any suggestions?

Maybe our whole clan should decide to join another clan? That seems more logical to me. That way if we lose people in the transition, not a big deal, there'd be more people in the clan, it would be more active, etc. To me starting a new clan with current members would be just as dead.
FYI, "DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!" = keybinded

When it comes to UT2004 and joining with another clan, you're all welcome in AOD (Angels of Destruction). The European folks would have a bit of a hard time with the group, but I think that the UT division was made up primely of Americans anyways. (Were's the bloody Canadians at? eh?) It's pretty much a have fun, just shoot shit clan made up primarily of grown people. (median age is about 21.) I fit in fairly well even with a high ping. I am still in the process of trying to join myself. (just applied yesterday. Spent 5 hours or so with them on TS just fraggin.) Check 'em out at www.theaodclan.com

Joining with an already established clan sounds like it would make the most sense. But what of the games that they don't play and/or cover such as NOLF and NOLF2, I don't see a ton of clans out there that offer that game type. So would our clan members that participate in that game just go by the wayside or what? Also remember that in merging/joining with another clan means more peeps which isn't bad but what are their general base of members like? Are they the "We're gaming gods, so we can be a**holes to whom ever we please" or "You F'ing noob, we don't want you in our clan" ? I find some really beyond crappy attitudes out there amongst a lot of the larger clans. Mostly the ones that have even been half way nice have been [EH] and GU (which isn't really even a clan) and only a few from DFA. Sorry, but AOD (Angels of Destruction) sounds like one of those a**hole clans just like the Omnipotents clan or )o( . All the times that I have played on their AS server I have only met one, yes, count them, one nice person from their clan. There is something to be said about a name I personally like our clan, we're small enough to be personable but I do understand the need for members. How do you get members? Visibility! How do you become visible? 1.Wear your clan tag(Twinkie and Mastermeo asked me to join TNT)and treat people like you want to be treated. If people like you, then they'll come to you and ask about joining. If you're a turd, then everyone stays away from you, I sure as hell don't want to chit chat with the bitchy clan person. TNT is the first and only clan I have ever been a member of. Before I came here I was terrified to even approach a clan. After quite a few attempts in-game to approach a clan member (not TNT) and treated like total sh*t each time, I thought, I don't wanna be in a clan. I truly was under the impression that major a**holes were the only peeps in clans. Until I came upon a post from two clans on the Atari Forums, one from vVv and the other from TNT. I wrote both web addresses down and visited each. Since I'm a member of TNT it's obvious that vVv wasn't that wonderful. As a matter of fact, they completely ignored my attempt to join by not responding at all, even after my second attempt. 2.Approach other clans while you're gaming and ask about a possible match between them and your clan (make sure your clan members know how to even play that gametype first) A match setup like that is much more effective than IGL type matches because you're networking not just competing. And be a good sport if you lose or win. People enjoy other people that are fun and know how to enjoy themselves no matter win or lose. That also helps build relations between varying clans. 3. "Partner" with another clan (not merge) with advertising. I have seen many times with the NOLF2 clans advertising on each others sites. Once again, that helps build relations with other clans that already have a large member base. They may also refer peeps to our clan if some of their members feel they aren't good enough or don't like the atmosphere. Joining forces is more effective than merging forces. After a corporate take over of a company what usually happens? Yes, that's right.......downsizing and splitting. Just because you're big, doesn't mean you're a powerhouse. 4. Have a Server with a game type that is popular. DM is popular but more often than not, they aren't associated with a clan. ONS is popular but your server needs to allow for at least 12-14 players to be effective. I notice the 20-32 player servers are continually packed. On that server, advertise other clans, it's not as if there aren't enough people to go around. RPG invasion is very popular but TNT peeps(who will remain nameless)balked repeatedly about having an Invasion server. And having a message of "Now Recruiting"in the server browser next to your server name does no good if no one goes to your server to play. Why don't they play on your server? Not enough player slots, crappy connection speeds or crappy gametype. 5. Make joining easy. Why would anyone jump through a thousand hoops and work their a** off only to find out it was for nothing and they can't join? I am glad that our tryouts are a bit more relaxed. Normally people join a clan to try and become better players and to be part of a team. Nagging them about every little thing they've done wrong during a tryout isn't constructive. Take them with their faults and let them join. Tutor them after wards in proper battle techniques etc. My main point is that even with the members we have our clan isn't seen nearly as much as we can be. If you don't know that you have a pizza restaurant in your town, you'll never order pizza, or if they cr*p on your pizza you'll never order there again. If people don't know there's a TNT clan, they'll never join it, If we cr*p on people they'll never come to us again. Yes there are other TNT clans but honestly, how often have you seen any of them? Me, only once have I seen a diff TNT clan person playing on a server. Don't get me wrong, change is good and a definite must, but that doesn't necessarily mean a whole restructure or merger to another clan. Just a couple of thoughts for ya

I second all opinions put forth by Anna. After thinking about it, these are my thoughts on the subject go...
As for servers, I think if we had a server, it would be a really good idea to share ownership of it with another clan or two. The old TNT server (R.I.P. <33333) was great, but no one was EVER on it. If we shared a server, I think it would be more likely that other people would be in the server, and plus it might help lower operating costs.
I also think that it would be really good if started getting other clans and playing with them more often. Right now on my Xfire list, I have 6 friends, one of whom is my roomate, and the other 5 are from TNT. I think it would be a really good idea (maybe because its partly my idea, lol) to start collecting names of people from other friendly clans, and maybe even make a database of xfire names of other clan members. I would be willing to make this kind of a database (should be pretty simple to make) and maybe even with times users are usually on, to make matchmaking easier. I know a lot of times I get on Xfire, and no one is on, or maybe fantom or jdg_M3nt4l is on, and it is really a pain to get a decent match going. So yeah... that is my two cents on the subject.

There's just a few things that I'm gonna say:
#1) You'd be surprised how much fun AoD is. All of the members are pretty silly and are always on later in the evening. #2) yeah... I think you all are on the right track. #3) However, I do think it is time for a reform for you guys, seeing as the clan really isn't the same clan anymore and it has different needs that need to be addressed. I'd say that you got the right idea there Sonic. I guess you could use The Hitchhiker's Guide To THe Galaxy as like a cult theme. That'd be a good one.

I'm just curious as to when we'll be able to get an outline or details as to what this will involve. Also, who is NS...never heard of them. Do we have a link to their site?
