I have been getting reports about our members swearing on servers including me lol but we need to stop swearing on public servers so we do not get banned and also because there are little kids playing.

Yes, anyone certainly can get banned from SFI servers for saying that, especially if it's continuous. Being upset over people using Wank ammo is no excuse. The ammo is part of the game, as accessible to you as to me, so stop griping about it. There have been polls taken all over the NOLF community asking if players think it should be removed, and the results are people want it to stay put.

I love a good discussion. If I start cursing I have good reason. Sometimes I kill someone, to find 130 Wank ammo bullets in his backpack!!!!!! I know Wank ammo is part of the game and I use it also. But I use it sometimes. And the fact that is it accessible does not mean that you need to use it. Yup Obi, in DM there are people that camp at the Wank ammo, you need to make a rule for that. And the last thing I have to say, all my skills are not enough to survive someone with Wank ammo (or I have a lucky day).

Wank ammo meens Wank ammopheric bullets (AK-47).
In my opinion, the fact that Wank ammo are there makes them available to use. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, that should limit a player's use of Wank ammo. In fact, if someone is murdering you with them, then use them back! They're right there for you! And not only that, but Wank ammo does not make a player invinsible, you can kill a player back when he uses Wank ammo. I've died MILLIONS of times at the same instant as a Wank ammo shooter. This can free up the time for you to grab some of your own and/or wait for them to respawn for you.
Infact, this can be related to CS's AWP and CoD's PPSH. People whine and gripe about them becuase they're too easy to use, when in fact these people need to learn how to the other weapons.

geezus I feel sorry for you NoLF people. At least on UT you get to swear. But the real question is whats the rating on the game? If its Mature then legally the target audience has the "right" to swear (since no children should even be owning the game - but they somehow get it)
All was established by the many federal court cases where parents "Gripe" about the foul language used during the operation of the software which legally should only belong in the hands of people 17+ (18 depending on the game.) But ultimately its up to the server admins, but I believe No One Lives Forever is not a mature rated game.
Too bad though.

Actually, Nolf2 is a mature rated game. Odd that they would give it such a rating. The blood really isn't that bad, and there's only one cuss word that I can remember in SP, and that was "d**n" (likely to be sensored by the forums autosensor. what a thingy.) And thanks Yeochins, for making things clear to us all.

If the server admin doesn't want undesirable language on their server, then I'm sure there is a mod or mutator or something that will essentially bleep out bad words, because I hate to tell you this but there is always going to be a person that finds something offensive about comments or statements. Like when I go to a UT server, the last thing I want to see is people yaking about jesus and god and the end of the world, I mean come on! but most of the time and especially in NOLF2 the chat font size is so small that I rarely see anything that anyone says cause I'm not looking in the upper corner of my screen, I'm looking at the middle to lower part of it.
If it was the server admin that is bringing this issue forward then they should punish everyone or make all players on their servers aware of this issue and penalize everyone rather than single out one group.
If they have standards or guidelines it might be easier for people to understand, I myself don't really think of cr*p, b**ch or similar words to really be offensive. So they need to produce guidlines outlining which words are acceptable and which are not that way no one unwittingly breaks the precious rules. ;D

There is no mod or option available that can censor conversations in NOLF2 Multiplayer.
It doesn't matter what the game is rated, the SFI servers have simple rules that need to be followed, and one of these is 'no profanity' whatsoever. All the rules for our servers can be read at the SFI forums as well as at the NOLF2 Clans Forums. Failure to obey these rules can result in booting or banning.
We don't enforce rules in order to be domineering or snobby, we at SFI just don't condone that kind of talk. We want our servers to be fit for children to play in. Considering both of my children play NOLF2, I have a personal interest in this.
There is no excuse for swearing, it isn't an accident and it certainly isn't necessary. Using vulgar language only shows you have no manners, no control of your emotions and a lack of intellect. Not sure what constitutes swearing? Anything that a priest, a pastor, your grandmother, your kindergarten teacher or your mom would be disappointed to hear coming out of your mouth is probably something you shouldn't say.
